The Most Deserving Student award 2013 is the second of its kind, as well as joining a string of awards that reward dedicated and hardworking people. The prize will be a car worth £5,000, which can be a life changing item for a student.
The string of awards come from an ongoing mission to discover a good deed, and offer a well-deserved reward. They will be looking for someone who is tirelessly dedicated to making a difference either for a friend, family member or in their local community.
This dedication will also be complimented by their commitment to their studies. The student must be in higher education, in a UK college or University, and can be part time, full time or even a long distance learner. They can be at the start of their studies or approaching the end. All that matters is their dedication to making a difference, and your nomination.
Nominations were made online and there are now 5 candidates in the running to be named the most deserving student. Voting is now open and you can choose who you feel is most worthy of the prize of a £5000 car from Motors.co.uk and the title of the 2013 most deserving student.
Other awards in the series include the Most Deserving Local Hero and the Most Deserving Business. The previous winner of the
Most Deserving Student, David Moorhouse, was nominated for his dedicated in overcoming a diagnosis of dyspraxia and dyslexia by obtaining a degree, PGCE and current PHD which he is studying for. He is attending the University of Bedford to study for his PHD, but he is also the ambassador of the University, and also looks after his daughter at home. He was awarded the Most Deserving Student and also a Renault Twingo worth £5000.
The award is a way to give recognition and credit to people in different circumstances and to celebrate their achievements. The award has so far welcomed nearly 200 heart-warming stories of nominees who have overcome hardships and exceeded expectations in their studies.
