Cardiff Met LFC continues to produce and support top level female footballers with it being announced this week that graduate and previous scholar at Cardiff Met, Sophie Ingle will be Wales Women's Senior team captain. The 22-year old studied at Cardiff Met for four years and won BUCS gold with the 1st team in 2013 and 2014. During her time at Cardiff Met Sophie signed for Chelsea Ladies in the WSL and a season later signed for Bristol Academy where she continues to play her domestic football. Ingle currently holds 52 caps since her senior debut in 2009.
Alongside Ingle, a new vice captain was also announced as former Cardiff Met LFC scholar and graduate, Natasha Harding. Harding has been given the vice captaincy ahead of the squads trip to Croatia's Istria Cup in March. Natasha who recently signed for American side Washington Spirit represented the University and won two BUCS gold medals during her time here.
