Plenty of knockout action for the Archers teams this week with 19 teams competing in cup, trophy or championship fixtures.

Men's Lacrosse battled to a 13-2 victory against Aberystwyth to take them to the semi finals of the Western Conference Cup where they'll face UWE 2nd team. Women's Lacrosse had a league fixture against bottom of the league Gloucestershire 1st team, beating them 34-1.

Women's Rugby 2nd team won 54-14 away to St. Mary's with great ball carrying from the forwards, excellent backline structure and pinpoint kicking from Joanne Jones converting 9 out of 10 tries. Women's Football 2nd team put 4 goals past Cambridge in the last 16 of the Western Trophy to progress to next weeks quarters against Southampton Solent.

Men's Tennis 1st team ran a strong Warwick 1sts team close in all 6 matches, but eventually lost out over all. Mike Castle and Mikey Cox played some quickfire doubles with strong serving and returning performances to force a 3rd set tie-break loss. James Rowe and the exquisite Ferdinand Hees powered their way through a tough match before losing in a 3rd set tie-break. James Hayward-Browne made use of his previous experience in Archery to hit precise serves and finish points with some devastatingly accurate backhands, but lost out to a strong Warwick 3rd seed. Next week sees the ladies' 1sts take on Loughborough 1sts in a Championship Quarter Finals Clash.

A 4-2 win for our Golf 1st team against SWP&C 1st puts them into the Semi Finals of the Western Conference Cup. Other teams that progressed this week include Men's Badminton 1st, Women's Volleyball, Women's Squash and Women's Waterpolo.

Several teams BUCS silverware campaigns ended after being knocked out this week. Men's Hockey 1st team lost 3-0 to Birmingham 1st team and Men's Rugby 2nd team narrowly lost 17-16 to SWP&C 1st team. Men's Basketball 1st travelled to Surrey who are top of the South Eastern Prem, they put in a great team effort coming away with a 73-52 defeat.

Men's Rugby 1st finished off this weeks BUCS Wednesday with a cracking performance against Cardiff Uni 1st team under the floodlights and in front of a cold but excited crowd. The boys took a 41-12 victory against the local rivals to take the points in the Premier South A league.
