I'm Rewathi Viswanatham, currently an MSc International Business student and your SU Vice President for 23/24. I'm excited to announce my candidacy for re-election as Vice President for Education. During my tenure, I've been actively involved in addressing student concerns, promoting collaboration, and spearheading impactful initiatives in areas like Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, student activities, transport, housing, and tackling the cost-of-living crisis.
But there's more to be done! Why do I deserve your Vote? I will work on:
- Dedicated to foster equal opportunities, an exclusive environment where everyone feels valued and celebrating our diverse student body, making Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion a cornerstone of our university experience. Thriving sports teams, and societies, enhance mental health services, and advocate for both home and international students' needs. Cultural integration is key, and I'll empower you to share your traditions, languages, and customs campus-wide. Together, through events, we'll build a global community that celebrates diversity.
- With an unwavering commitment for education, my focus is on delivering top-tier education at Cardiff Met. Prioritizing fair workloads, convenient timetables, and timely feedback, I aim to empower your academic journey. Furthermore, advocate for expanded career guidance services, workshops, and mentorship opportunities to enhance your educational experience.
- Addressing the cost-of-living crisis by enhancing affordable options for food (gluten-free, halal, vegan). Ensuring to tackle transporting, housing related issues, more opportunities, to ensure no student encounters the challenges. We will create a more inclusive and supportive environment where every student's needs are met without financial strains.
