SU Summer Elections

The SU Summer Elections are your opprtunity to stand to become part of our Student Leadership team. Which consists of School representatives, Student Officers, and Full-Time Officers. 

Positions up for election in the SU Summer Elections 2026:

  • School Representatives - These officers work on a school level collecting feedback from course reps from each programme. They then challenge and support the university to improve and maintain elements of the academic experience. (£100 a month bursary Sept - May)
  • Student Officers - These officers work to ensure that their group of students are able to engage and access education without their being barriers against them. They work to foster communities and act as champions for their student groups. (£100 a month bursary Sept - May)
  • *NEW* Full-Time Officer (Experience and Inclusion President) - This new role works to ensure all student voices are heard, both in the UK and at our TNE Sites. They work in tandem with the education president - seeking to ensure students from liberation groups are able to shape their experience. They work to ensure that democratic and policy decision making is fit for purpose, and that our members are engaged with them. (£22.9k a year, Full-time, Grad role or pause of studies)

The polls open at 10:00 on Tuesday 5 May 2026 (in 2 weeks and 5 days)

From Monday the 6th April 2026, you will be able to nominate yourself to Lead Cardiff Met via Cardiffmetsu.com/elections.   

Every year, students elect students candidates to take on a full-time paid role, where they can make positive changes for the Cardiff Met University experience, build professional skills and earn upwards of £22,900 during your year in post.

School Reps & Student Officers are also elected by our members - and will deliver on campaigns and work to enhance your student experience. These are part-time voluntary positions which recieved a £100 bursary monthly in recognition of their service.  

Regardless of your experience, our mission as an SU is to equip you with the skills and support you need to achieve your goals. 

We offer training on how to write a manifesto and provide an overview of what the roles entail – check out the dates of these training sessions at cardiffmetsu.com/elections
