Here at the SU, we want to ensure that your first experiences of university are the best they can be. Using the activity fee, we welcomed our Freshers with a taste of some of the brilliant activities Cardiff has to offer.
From a historical journey around St Fagans to descending down the rapids of Cardiff Bay, we provided a range of experiences to students free of charge.
We kicked off Freshers fortnight with a trip to the Dr Who Experience. Students explored through space and time to see some of the show’s most iconic moments, props and monsters. Day 2 and a trip to the White Water Rafting centre filled everyone with excitement and adrenaline. Students worked in a team to tackle the waves and attempt to stay within the rafts (which was easier said than done!) Our trips to Boulders and Go Ape sent students climbing up indoor rocks, leaping off Tarzan Swings and making their way through high ropes obstacles. Our final trip to St. Fagans led students through the history and culture of Wales with historic buildings and beautiful gardens.
