We have been advised by the police that there have been two serious sexual assaults in the Cathays area of the city in recent days and would like to remind all Staff and Students of Travel and Safety Advice when travelling to and from campus as well as around the city.

At this time of year try to avoid using the Taff Trail and stick to main streets. If walking at night, please try to ensure that you are with friends.  If using the Taff Trail please keep to the main path, be aware of your surroundings and always try to use the path as a group. Consider carrying a personal attack alarm.

When using Taxis always pre-book so that your details are logged, never get into an unlicensed vehicle and only get in the vehicle if you feel safe and sure.

If you are cycling around the city, ensure that you are wearing sufficient reflective clothing. If travelling in the dark your bike should have lights fitted, most importantly always wear a helmet.
