What an incredible start to the year we had! It was a record-breaking year for our annual SU Freshers’ Fayre, with more attendees than ever before coming through the doors. Here is a breakdown of the Fayre by the numbers.
What an incredible start to the year we had! It was a record-breaking year for our annual SU Freshers’ Fayre, with more attendees than ever before coming through the doors. Here is a breakdown of the Fayre by the numbers.
Six Thousand, three hundred, and twenty-seven!
That’s right, we had over 6300 students and staff through the doors into NIAC last Wednesday. A record number for the Fayre, and over 700 more than the 5600 attendees from 12 months ago.
In total, there were 124 stalls, made up of 30 SU Sports clubs, 24 SU Societies, a mixture of University departments, and local and national businesses.
We now have 744 students signed up to be a member of an SU Society, with many more having written their names down as being interested in joining. If you would like to become a member of a society, head to https://www.cardiffmetsu.co.uk/societies/
Walking around the Fayre certainly builds up an appetite, with Domino’s Pizza delivering 374 pizzas to the fayre, and with each pizza being cut into 10 slices, that means we collectively ate around 3740 slices of pizza through the day. Pizza wasn’t the only thing on the menu, as Poutine Box also gave away hundreds of boxes of the Canadian speciality.
We’ll also be repeating this experience again for our SU ReFreshers’ Fayre on Tuesday 4th February, this time at Llandaff campus to welcome you all back after the Christmas holidays!
