It is important that all students new to the Cardiff area register with a Doctor, if after reading the following information you need assistance, please see your Campus Nurse.
MINSTER SURGERY ROATH
If you are living in the Minster Surgery catchment area you can register Sunday 21st September on campus or at the Cyncoed Campus Medical Centre on the following dates (NB All students living on Cyncoed Campus are automatically eligible to register):
22nd Spetember to 3rd October - Monday, Wednesday and Fridays between 1.30pm - 2.30pm
N.B Week 2 is subject to change depending on demand
REST OF CARDIFF
All students living in University Halls have been allocated a surgery to register with by the Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board, for more information click here , students living near a Student Hall can also access the GP listed. All other students need to find a surgery near to their accommodation. To do this visit see your Campus Nurse or phone the NHS Business Service Centre tel:01495 332000 and ask for GP registrations.
HOW TO REGISTER
Visit the surgery taking your NHS card (if you do not have this, the address of your current GP is essential), and ask to register with the practice.
If they are not taking new patients; email:
gprequestse@bsc.wales.nhs.uk with your full name, date of birth, previous address (home), current address (Cardiff), the name and address of your current GP if you have that information.
If you are new to the UK then also include date of entry to the UK and country of birth. The centre will then reply with the address of the practice
you are to be registered with and any further information you need. If you are not a UK resident you will need to take your passport when you go to register.
