Amid concerns over the controversy surrounding the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, we wanted you to be informed on these issues and have a choice, whilst being supported to interact with the FIFA World Cup however you choose. Your SU stands for the rights of women, migrant workers, and the LGBT+ community and want to clearly state that we do not share the Qatar government’s values in any way.

During the group stages we highlighted the activism that has taken place from every competing nation, showing the impactful change in different aspects of society around the world. During the tournament we worked with the SU's LGBTQIA+ Society on plans for further awareness to highlight the issues in Qatar, and this page will remain on our website to allow you to read more on the issues and donate to charities supporting the LGBTQIA+ community.
