As students, it’s imperative for our voice to be heard. After all, without us the university would not be here and so it’s of great importance that we are all satisfied with our learning experience.

All final year students have been given a fantastic opportunity to get their highly valued opinions taken into consideration. It’s a great chance to reflect on your time at university and review what you feel has gone well and what could be improved. As a final year student I appreciated that I could share my university experience via the NSS. Not only could I share my own subjective views on the course that I have been studying, but also the survey allowed me to convey how I feel about other aspects of university life such as the social scene and the services offered by the Students’ Union. I enjoyed reporting the strengths and potential improvements that I feel could be made by the Psychology team for future students. Further, it was great to reminisce and sharing the amazing social experience that Cardiff Met University has to offer. I also felt it pertinent to discuss how helpful the Students’ Union has been and how much they have aided me through my time here.  At the start of my third year I was given a fantastic opportunity to become a member of the UMAX team, part of Cardiff Met Students’ Union. Since then I have been heavily involved with the Students’ Union and this has been a huge benefit to me. My role here has allowed me to develop my verbal communication skills by conversing with and helping students every day. It has given me invaluable experience in a novel working environment which will surely help me upon graduating. My involvement with the Students’ Union has also allowed me to take on a qualification that will make my CV stand out to employers: The Cardiff Met Award. The Students’ Union has helped me to become a better-rounded individual. New opportunities for the students of Cardiff Metropolitan Uni are always being advertised so be sure to check out the jobshop section of the S.U. website!
