Our Annual Course Rep training event this year was held on Friday the 26th of October at Llandaff. We had a fantastic turn out of over 100 Reps attending from all the different schools, a Cardiff Met record. For the first year ever, we had some our International Reps from of our partner Universities such as Singapore and Egypt come and visit Cardiff Met SU and take part in the training. It was brilliant to see everyone making new friends and learning new skills, as the role of a rep is so important to the Students’ Union.
It was a fantastic and fun filled event! In the morning session, all the reps were trained on what the SU does and how to fulfil their role as a rep. After lunch, everyone got stuck into the team building and problem solving activities. Watching the final of the Acid River activity was brilliant! Two teams; some blind folded and others in protective suits competed to the finish line to be crowned champions. Although nothing could beat our last task of the day showing the determination of over 50 Reps trying to complete their way out of Human Knot.
We were so pleased and excited about the amount of reps who attended and will be following up this event with smaller training sessions for those who missed it. So good luck to everyone that has signed up to being a rep this year and we can’t wait to see you all again around campus, at meetings, and at the Rep Awards 2014 to celebrate your success.
