A great start to the indoor season at the Cardiff Met GP Christmas Classic.
Many PB’s were seen during the day with Sian Swanson’s long jump PB of 5.29m and a strong run in the 60m.
A great 60m win from Becca Chapman in a time of 7.83s and a second in the long jump with a jump of 5.80m.
Sara Geary demonstrated a strong 60m run with speed to really develop all other events this coming season.
Megan Rogers won her 300m heat in a solid time of 40.47 s and a new PB. Great to see her back and strong from last year’s injury.
Lucy Griffiths putted a good distance of 11.35 m with her first competition since her dramatic elbow dislocation this year.
Beccy Nuttell performed a strong 600m after 2 years out in a great time of 1:36.9 m.
It was good to see Gemma Young back competing and putting her training together.
Jon Rendell managed a win in his 300m heat with 36.8 s, well done! Followed by Jack McMullen pulling a good time of 1:25 m in a cheeky 600m; a good start for a potential 1:55 m 800m this year!?
Curtis Mathews had a strong all round performance in the multi-event with a 2nd place in his 60m heat, and a clear win with a superb hurdle run and a huge PB of 8.43s.
In the pole-vault we had Jack Snook clearing a new PB height of 4.30 m. Equalling his PB Stephen Scarfi cleared a bar of 4.40m.
A promising start to the season with Varsity and BUCS in sight over the next coming season.
