We are celebrating

We have just been awarded Welsh University of the Year 2021 by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide.  Our performance in this year’s Guide is exceptional – our University was the biggest riser in Wales, and the third biggest in the UK, placing us in the UK top 40 for student satisfaction with teaching quality and the wider student experience. Our University also achieved its highest ever rise in this year’s Guardian University Guide, having climbed 41 places, which was the highest rise in Wales.

We are pleased that these strong performances have resulted in the University being successful in attracting high numbers of well qualified students and we are now seeking additional high calibre staff, in both our academic schools and professional services departments, to enable us to continue providing the best learning and teaching experience for our students as we move forward in the 2020/21 academic year and beyond.

About Us
Cardiff Metropolitan University is one of the UK’s most progressive new universities, with around 10,000 students across our two campuses in Cardiff.

We consistently rank in the top ten per cent of UK universities for graduate start-ups per student, and this spirit of innovation and enterprise lies at the heart of the University. Programmes and research are undertaken across five key Schools:  Art and Design; Education and Social Policy; Sport and Health Sciences; Management; and Technologies.

The University is part way through an ambitious strategic plan to 2023 that will see it concentrating on enhanced student outcomes with growth in international activities, disciplinary breadth and overall scale. The University prides itself on the role that translational research plays in enhancing the student experience and we are committed to providing our students with an outstanding student experience. We work in partnership with students to instil the Cardiff Met EDGE - a series of Ethical, Digital, Global and Entrepreneurial skills to develop confidence, resilience and experiences that will prepare them for life after university and through to employment.

Our Team

Our Quality Enhancement Directorate is at the heart of Cardiff Met, working in partnership with colleagues in the Schools and Professional Services to make a positive contribution to the experiences of staff and students at the University. Spanning the Quality Assurance provision and the enhancement and development of Teaching and Learning, the Directorate plays a unique and significant part in shaping policy and progress in line with our University’s Strategic Plans.

The Directorate is at an exciting stage of development, offering the right people the opportunity for creativity and professional progression within their role through the transformation of our services. This is an amazing opportunity to join a friendly, energetic team, and to make your mark in Technology Enhanced Learning at a vibrant, fast-developing University.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for enthusiastic students to join our Student Insight Team in the Student Voice and Engagement Team for the Quality Enhancement Directorate. Student Insight Team members provide student insight within the Directorate on a wide range of co-creation projects, such as:

  • The Student Led Teaching Awards
  • Helping to run focus groups
  • Promoting surveys
  • Supporting the creation and development of new resources for both staff and students
  • The design of our degree programmes.

The role is very varied and would suit a wide range of students, from those happier working virtually and those engaging with students in person. We are looking for someone who can share their experience as a student with us within the Directorate and wider University, working alongside the student representation structure at the Students’ Union.  Only you know what it’s really like to study here so you’re the experts!

Should a high volume of applications be received, we may need to close this vacancy early. We therefore encourage you to apply as early as possible but no later than the closing date.

To apply, please submit an application and cover letter explaining how you fulfil the criteria and why you think you’d be suitable for the role.
