General Warehouse Duties During Summer Holidays

Introduction

The Maltings Document Storage Solutions provide professional document storage and retrieval services to many businesses across South Wales. Now in our 41st year, we are expanding and changing the way we operate internally. We are therefore looking for student support during the summer holidays (4 weeks beginning 2nd August 2021) to assist us with implementing some internal changes. There may also be ad-hoc work available following the Summer holidays for any students studying part time who have availability to work. This can be discussed at that time.

General Duties / Skills

Reporting to Gareth and Ian (Operational Co-Ordinators), your role will include some of the following tasks:

• Moving archive boxes
• Labelling shelving systems
• Accurately capturing small amounts of data onto a laptop
• Counting boxes within a storage unit
• General housekeeping duties (tidying up)
• Updating printout lists accurately and handing these back each day
• Using barcode scanners to record locations of boxes on shelves

To be successful within this temporary position, you will have a willingness to learn, be able to work as part of a team and support colleagues where required. Good numeracy and literacy skills are also required due to the nature of the works required.

Hours of Work

• 40 Hours Per Week – 8.00am to 16.30pm (Monday to Friday)
• Above national minimum wage for age (£7.00 per hour)

Please note; Hours and days are totally flexible to accommodate your own personal needs, but ideally a minimum of 3 full days per week and preference would be 5 days per week.
