Projects Intern
Cardiff Met Student’ Union is looking for a part time intern to work two days a week during term time with the Skills and Volunteering Manager. This is an exciting new role which will see you develop a variety of transferable skills.
You will be supporting several projects where you will be researching and contacting internal and external speakers for our Cardiff Met Talks as well as helping plan our Student Union Forums; contacting high profile external speakers ranging from leaders in Business, LGBT and Sport as well as working with the rep structure ensuring that students are aware of upcoming talks.
As the Projects Intern you will also be helping plan and lead a variety of volunteering initiatives. These initiatives range from working with SVC, Cancer Research Wales and Cardiff Council to name but a few organisations. We are also planning our first ‘Jail Break’ event this year so we are looking for someone who can help market this event and be confident speaking with students and dealing with their questions.
You must be confident in researching and contacting external and internal speakers via email, Twitter, LinkedIn on the telephone and in person. There will also be general administrative duties such as updating databases and job boards
Overall this is an excellent position for a student who is looking to develop their networking and project management skills. There is a lot of scope with this position so it’s a real chance for you to make your mark.
Salary is on average £150 a week paid on a monthly basis.
Please send a CV and cover letter to msims@cardiffmet.ac.uk
Interviews will commence w/c 18th September.
