Hello!
My name is Claire; I am one of the new student assistants here at UMAX.

One of my favourite things to do is create lists. I love them, from my personal life to my academic studies, lists rule my world. In this section of the UMAX blog there will be A LOT of lists.
 

To kick off my many lists, I’m going to start with “5 reasons I wanted to work for UMAX”

1. I love helping people.
So that is why this position was FAB for me. I firmly believe that by helping people, you feel better in yourself. Don’t you always feel so much better after doing something good for someone else?

2. I wanted to work for my SU at my university.
I wanted to give back to my university, and help the students in it. You really get from university and the SU what you put in. So if you want to make it a better place, get involved and do so!

3. I know it looks awesome on my CV.
And this is a selfish one, I know, but really it is important. When you leave  uni (as I will be soon!) you are thrown into a world where everyone is looking for a job. Question: What will set you aside from every other person out there? Answer: Your CV.

4. I knew I would get good experience working in a busy office.
Again, to put on your CV, nothing says “I am a calm and well organised person” quite like “I worked in a busy and fast moving office doing a 100 things at once!”

5. I wanted to help motivate other people to use UMAX and the SU.
This is something I truly honestly cannot stress enough , UMAX and the SU are AMAZING.  How you cannot love it, I don’t know! They give such awesome workshops, THAT ARE FREE!!!! They have some incredible events and a wonderful helpful team!

So there it is, my first list as the new student assistant. And yes, I am making a list of lists to write about!
